    Exclamation phpBB 2.0.22 Forum.

    I'm administrating a forum using phpBB 2.0.22. I want to know how to :
    1. pick what fields users can fill out when registering on my forum.
    2. prevent anyone from seeing new users as well as new posts until I approve them. Currently, they are able to register but cannot sign in until I activate their accounts. However, even at that point, they show up in the list of registered members.

    Can I get any help with this?

    Thank you,

    ObibiniKwasi

    Hi ObibiniKwasi, welcoome to the forums,
    The best place to look is the MOD database http://www.phpbb.com/mods/db/ The MODs give detailed step-by-step instructions http://www.phpbb.com/mods/installing/ on how to modify the forum.

    For example, the "No Website Signature during registration" modifies 2 files:
    includes/usercp_register.php
    templates/subSilver/profile_add_body.tpl
    and the instructions look like:
    Code:
    #
    #-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
    #

    includes/usercp_register.php

    #
    #-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
    #

    $unhtml_specialchars_replace = array('>', '<', '"', '&');

    #
    #-----[ AFTER, ADD ]------------------------------------------
    #

    // Start Website Signature removal mod

    // Change "$ban_ip = false;" to "$ban_ip = true;" to ban the of the user if it tries to enter in something in the website or signature sections
    $ban_ip = false;

    // End Website Signature removal mod

    ........
    There are other "unofficial" MOD site's (not vetted by the phpbb team), but I have installed some from http://www.phpbbhacks.com/ without any problems.
