Folks, I recently got Vista on a new PC and have been using my CS3 Photoshop on it for a while.
The problem I'm having is that if I drop a new brush set into the appropriate presets folder on vista, it doesn't show up in Photoshop.
(eg C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Presets\Brushes)
I've pinned this down to the fact that Vista has some kind of security measure, and while I can see the brushes I've added in CubicExplorer (file browser) then they are present. Looking at it in Windows Explorer there's this button called 'Show compatibility files'
(see attachment)
So, vista apparently doesn't allow writing to the program files directories and instead creates some kind of virtualisation store, which is why I think photoshop can't locate them when I go looking to load the brushes.
Anyone found a work around? You know, because using more than the default brushes would be kinda nice
I assume the problem is the same for other add-ons like gradients etc.
