i have been busy working on my new sites on my dedicated server and now that i have php3 and mysql installed i am looking for a php3 news updating script with a good interface and short cuts for text types, fonts, size, colour and paragraph alignments etc
I have been using newspro for over a year now on theprequels.net site on mine and like how it writes to a text file for a category of news and then is called via SSIs on page(s)
do all php3 news updating scripts utilise the mysql backend ?
My new 6 day old forum using php3/mysql database is getting 5,000 - 9,000 pageviews/day and over 380+ posts/day and already uses up quite alot of bandwidth
would a php3 news updating script using mysql cause any problems with a growing forum on the same server ?

Check out http://www.hotscripts.com for the script you are talking about. I was looking for a similar one a while ago and found plenty there to choose from. There are varients of Slashdot.org's script there and plenty of others.
