Where's a good spot to insert a search bar on my site? I just can't figure it out a good area that follows the rules of usability/accessibility....where it won't look weird....

Hi
I always like sites with the search in the top right, which I think will work with your layout perfectly - see attached

Normally this type of thread would be closed since it belongs in the Reviews section, but as long as we can keep the topic on accessibility and usability, I see no reason why it can't remain open.
And with that in mind, I'm moving it to the Accessibility & Usability board.
That being said, for accessibility and usability reasons it really comes down to the individual layout and the needs of your users - especially your keyboard users. What measures are you taking to ensure that keyboard users can easily access and use the search menu?

Thanks guys!
yes upper right corner is great, because users look for search bar upper right - reasons:
1. mac spotlight
2. mac finder
3. vista search bar
and more

it's inspired by apple's search

my attachment: that's what I'd do- at the moment it's not too user friendly - because the menubar is too small, but if you increase the font size in menubar, then the search would be pretty visible - easy to find..
I've made some changes....
What do you think?

I think this is straying too far towards "Review-Land". Can we please stick to the topic of accessibility & usability before it gets locked?
Speaking of accessibility, dark colors used for the foreground and background will cause accessibility issues since not everyone will be able to read the text (I'm looking at your header menu). Might want to rethink that.

@Dan Schulz:
Do you mean the navbar? Or the search bar (blue-box it's in front of)....
If so, here's a new mockup, tell me if you think it's more accessible:

I meant that dark grey bar at the top. Oh wait, that's part of the browser chrome, isn't it?
