HTML Tidy on an entire web site?

    Hello,

Is it possible to use HTML Tidy (http://tidy.sourceforge.net/) on an entire web site that is located on my desktop? We're looking at tidying 1000s of pages, some which date back to 1999.

I want to be able to scan an entire folder, and have HTML Tidy clean all .html, .htm and .inc files in all folders and sub folders within (some are 50 levels deep).

Thanks - and I look forward to hearing from you.

Yes, with the PHP tidy extension. Tidy might be available as extensions to other languages, too.

You don't mention what kind of a desktop you are using. Windows, MacIntosh, Linux? In each case the procedure will be different, but the general answer is "yes".

    I am using Windows XP.

Can you (or anyone else) give me some specifics about what my next step would be to carry this forward?

    Thanks for your help.

Just run tidy in batch mode telling it what folder to process. I can't remember the exact details option for doing it as it is about 15 months ago that I ran it that way. You should find it easily enough in the help.
