    DRY Software

Hello. Recently I try to learn Ruby on Rails. Dont Repeat Yourself is base idea for Rails. And I want to apply this idea to my codes that are written in other languages. But looking whole source code for repeating patterns is a bit cumbersome. Is there any software that can find the repeating code patterns in source code?

DRY is just a principle you keep in mind when writing code. It's pretty obvious when you're typing code you already wrote 3 days ago, so you turn that block into a function or a class that you can use in both places. Your compiler/interpreter won't care about repetitive code, there's no reason to try to go back and find every instance like that...
