Hello there - how's it going?

I'm trying to get an image map to interact with checkboxes. I'm using javascript, php, and html.

I currently have one page that contains an image map, seggregated into postcodes. When a user clicks on the postcode, I'd like it to check a check box on a seperate page.

I'd like the user to beable to click as many postcodes as he or she likes on the image map, and when the page is closed (or a button is pressed), the users will see the postcodes they selected in the form of ticked check boxes.

I've been trying to work out how to achieve this, and bcs it's client side I've chosen Javascript. But, I can't find any literature on this topic.

Can anybody help me please, I really would be most grateful.

Thankyou very much, if you can,

IF you want to be completely client side you would have to right the information to a cookie or pass it in a query string. Then on the page with the checkboxes you would have a routing that reads the query string or cookie to pre-fill all the checkboxes as needed.
