    help with IE6

    Hello,
A website I'm building isn't displaying properly in IE 6.

The main div with my text in it( #right div) is pushed below the #left div. I checked floats and widths, and I tried making the width smaller, but it still wouldn't go where it's supposed to.

    here's the site: members.shaw.ca/electricmouse/empoweredchoices/

    Do you have any ideas?

    Thanks very much.

mmm hopefully IE6 will die soon...

But in the mean time, try reducing the width for the left and/or right divs.

If this then mucks with the design a little, you can detect the browser and add a css patch only for IE6. This is what a lot of sites do (e.g. Wordpress). Try googling it.

    cheers

    Thanks,
I tried reducing the width(to the extreme) to see if that was the problem, and it didn't fix it.
I thought maybe I was missing a "clear" after the drop down menu, but I'm just guessing.

I haven't yet ventured into the realm of IE 6 patches, but I will look into it. Thanks.

margins and paddings are always where IE gets me. I have started viewing a site in both IE and Firefox while developing and then as soon as something doesn't work in IE I can stop sort it out and apply a conditional stylesheet if needed. It saves so much chasing down of code problems later.

When I checked your site in IE 6 (through IE tester) it looked fine so I'm not sure if the problem is still happening or not? Did you get it resolved?

    Thank you,
Yes I did fix it. It turned out to be the margin that I had set for the quote div on the left. Thanks for your help.
