anti-aliasing in Photoshop
Which anti-aliasing text setting do people use in Photoshop when they're work is destined for the web? I'd be interested to know what people use.
Also (this might be a bit of a Flash question) but what setting should I use (or doesn't it matter) when I'm going to import the PSD into Flash? Which will then use it's own anti-aliasing method—I don't want to end up applying it twice!

With various fonts, different anti-aliasing method may produce best results.
For some "sharp" may be too blocky, while for others - very clear and easy to read.
I usually select "crisp" or "smooth", occasionally "sharp" or even "strong" - when a bit bolder rendering of the characters is desirable.
And of course "none" for pixel fonts.
Sometimes, when I'm not satisfied with one a-a method, I mix them by cloning a layer with - for example - "sharp" and changing it to let's say "crisp" then I lower the opacity of both to the desired level.
This way you can easily control the final look of your anti-aliased text.Last edited by Varelse; Aug 17, 2008 at 12:47. Reason: typos
