    Xml navigation without simplexml?

    Hi,

    To parse xml i've used simplexml with php5 before. I'm now working in an environment where php 4 is being used. Whats the best way to deal
    with xml without simplexml in php. I know in javascript i can use the DOM to navigate xml, which is clunky but easy enough...is there anything
    similar for php?

    thanks

    There was a PHP4 : DOM which was a bit patchy as I remember.

    Maybe its installed? check phpinfo();

    It loads the whole file into memory, so if that's a problem you may need to look for a SAX-like solution for PHP4.

    We used a PEAR package in 4.

    Hi,

    No we don't seem to have any DOM support.

    Thanks soonerdm, we're using PEAR anyways for templating. This might be a good solution.
