    internet explorer not intepreting text-indent on submit buttons

    This is something that has been known for a long time, you cant remove the submit button text with text-indent:-999999em like you would with other browsers... has anyone found a solution yet?

    I know there is a image-type submit button but thats not what Im looking for.

    thx for any input!

    Hi,

    If you want to do this so you can add a background image then you culd do something like this.

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    <style type="text/css">
    input{text-indent:-999em;width:100px}

    </style>
    <!--[if lt IE 8]>
    <style type="text/css">
    input{
        text-indent:0;
        padding:40px 0 0 0;
        height:25px;
        overflow:hidden;
    }
    </style>
    <![endif]-->
    </head>
    <body>
    <form id="form1" method="post" action="">
        <div>
            <label for="Submit"></label>
            <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit" id="Submit" />
        </div>
    </form>
    </body>
    </html>
