Recently I bought Professional PHP Programming and am on Chapter 9 at the moment (not as fast as yourself Wayne
) and out of the blue came a mention of MD5 hash.
Has anyone got any info on what it is and how it works. I believe it's something to do with creating 32 character numbers randomly. Am I right?
Much Appreciated.

Hashing is commonly used with encryption, another common use for the MD5 hash is to generate session keys on websites.
You can find more info at: http://www.php.net/manul/function.md5.php and http://www.php.net/manual/function.uniqid.php .
