Take full advantage of the 'scaffold' feature in Rails.
Then you can study and poke-at the code generated for you.
The Pragmatic Programmer's Book(s) on Ruby are valuable to 'unlearn' PHP and start your thinking in a more Ruby direction.

There's a good book by Pragmattic Programmers called Rails for PHP Developers (or something to that effect) - Sitepoint's Simply Rails is also a good book.
