    Locking a Frame

Lets say I have an HTML frameset with 3 rows. When the the browser window size is adjusted and decreased, the bottom two frames begin to shrink and overlap the top frame.

How can I make it so the "space" is taken from the bottom frames first?

If you set a fixed height for your top two framesets, that should mean that only the bottom row should have any 'give'. It's a long time since I've seriously used frames, but I believe this to be the case.

Is it essential that frames are used, by the way? I can't stand them.

Agreed. No disrespect to the poster or his site, but I would, as a rule, run screaming from a site with three framesets. (Don't tell me that this or that major-league site uses three or more framesets. I know. I just don't like it. )

The proper way to use frames is to avoid them if at all possible.

I would completely agree. Although I have been guilty of using framesets in the past. I've been using css and javascripts as I was lectured on the usage of framesets :P
