Thumbs up Should I make a blog on my website?

Here goes. I have a website and I heard some of my friends that ask me to create a blog for it. So should I go for it? and what should I include on that blog in order to promote my site? Updates? or?

    Thanks

I use wordpress, because it is easy to create article, and I can take advantage of its feature, like SEO and ping.

Nono you don't get me there. I own a website and I'm asking whether or not should I create a blog for the site for the purpose of promotion/links/updates. I'm asking whether should I go for it or not.

Can't really answer that without knowing what your site is about.

You really want to have a vision for your blog before you start and know exactly what you want to accomplish otherwise it will be just more work without much benefit.

agree, but if you like writing, perhaps having a blog become your hobby

Short answer: Yes. Long answer: Yes, if you actually have a purpose behind firing up a blog. It could be self-oriented, customer- or visitor-oriented, observational, interactive, political, whatever. But too many people crank out blogs and have no idea why they're blogging or what they're out there blogging about. That's where you get the lowest-common-denominator blogs that are about "cool stuff I found on the Internet," for example.

I'd say yes, go blog. I've had a blog based site for just a couple of weeks (after a static one for 3 years). It's already atracting more attention.

I would say that it would be great if you create a blog to your site as it will show your credibility and dedication that will affect your readers' willingness to visit your site again by giving them updates and some info about who you are.

Definitely go for it... Not only does it bring traffic to your website, but search engines love blogs!... I use Blogger.com for my blog and it's been great... There's plenty of other applications to choose from..

GO FOR IT! A blog helps with traffic and updates, and it gives people more information and details on your site and niche. It's also a way of connecting with your audience.

I would have a Blog before I would have any Website. That just my opinion !! But the two would really be a great combination. More Traffic, more exposure, better crawl rates with Google all the way around !!

I think a blog is a good way to keep updated content on your site, so it could be good for SEO purposes. But I feel like if you are not going to keep it updated, or if you don't really have anything to blog about, then you should probably pass.

fr3akeee, this is my opinion: make a blog. these guys at mangoorange.com (i didn't put a link, please don't consider this spam) have a blog with themes-I use their theme on my website. I see you have a site with wallpapers, so a blog where you post what are going to design in the near future sound great.

    Good luck!
