Yes blogging can become profitable, but the blogs have to be popular, updated frequently and you have to have a way to monetize your traffic. Forums, mini-sites and information sites can also make money. It all depends on what you want to do.

I think most people don't make alot of money blogging though they might not admit it, but it can be alot of fun and if you have a blog that is helpful you may make a bit of money.

You can make money with any website. Whether or not it is enough money will depend on how good your blog is and what you define as "enough money".

My ad click through rate is less than 2%. If I average $0.10 a click, that means I'll need more than 500 visitors to make $1. If someone has that same click through rate and gets 100k visitors per day, that's 2,000 clicks which would generate $200 based on a $0.10 average per click.

Not many blogs get 100k visitors per day. Mine doesn't.

Well it actually depends on what your Niche is actually and how you are presenting it. You can make money out of anything on the internet. So there's not a criteria to define that blogs are making more money or my regular website.

Making money from the blog or website depends on the traffic they have. If your blog has more traffic than regular website, it will be more profitable.

I think both are well money makers. it depends who is doing what with the site.
If you put your time and expertise on website it would make you lots of money. and this works both way

It really depends what your blog is about and your target market... You need a big enough niche to make it worthwhile and profitable.. What would you want to blog about?

the niche of your blog is highly dependant on how much you make, for example health, adult blgos will usually make more thorugh link sales and affiliate networking whilst a personal blog would be a lot harder to make money from.

If you write about a specific high paying niche, such as, say, online business, and pull in highly targeted traffic, then yes.

At one point I was pulling in over $100/day from a blog that was brand new in the online business niche, but those pomotion tactics I used have since become obsolete....ahhh, the good old days.
