I often see people who put the links to their Facebook and LinkedIn profiles. I wonder why. Do they expect their readers to add them as friends or make connections on LinkedIn? They are your readers, but still you don't know them.

Yes, I guess that's the reason. Some people use facebook (and the like) to connect with just friends and family, others are just happy to be friends with anybody.

What about LinkedIn? I mean it's a professional social network, I don't see any purpose on having a connection with someome I just slightly know.
Tell me if I'm wrong.
I've never used Linkedin before, but I suppose it would be more relevant as in connecting with fellow bloggers.
