Putting RSS feeds from a single category on another website

I'm sure there must be an easy way to do this, but I haven't found it yet.

I have a client that has several mini sites devoted to different - but related subjects. Like one site for "growing roses" and one for "growing tulips", for example.

Then they have a master site with a blog that covers all of these categories. I want to put the RSS feed from the "growing roses" category only - on the mini site about growing roses. Info from the tulips category on the tulip mini site. That way it looks like the site is always updated, but the client doesn't have to manage multiple blogs.

Does that make sense? And more importantly, is it possible?

Do these blogs produce RSS feeds for individual categories?

If they're WordPress blogs they do...

http://example.com/category/categoryname/feed

Are the mini sites WordPress blogs? WordPress comes with MagpieRSS, an open source feed parser, in its core (rss.php). Otherwise download a copy and follow the examples.

If you create separate feeds for each category, you could use Yahoo Pipes to automatically generate a feed of all the categories combined. Then you could use the individual category feeds and combined feed as needed. Just one solution that might work for you.

Well, it's a central Wordpress blog, and I want to farm out content to regular "static" sites so it looks like they're updated as often as the main blog is. Would the magpie rss feed still work in that case or would I have to have Wordpress blogs installed on every site? (ugh)

MagpieRSS doesn't need WordPress, no, just PHP.
