    FTP Failed, error: 1007

    Hi,
As of yesterday, my managed server with 1and1 is givving me preoblems with FTP
    Failed, error: 1007
I am using WS_FTP Pro and I'm not getting this error on any other server or VPS I have so confused as to what the problem on this particular server may be.

    Any help really appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    - Vince

Isn't the point of paying for a managed server that you can ask 1and1?

    Indeed Dan.
But while I'm waiting for them to fix it, thought I'd ask here as their responses don't normally tell you what the problem was - and I'm curious to learn.

    Thanks,

Have you tried googling the error code? That should get you started on a fix.

    Also getting error 1020 sometimes.
WS_FTP provides a table of error codes

    1007
    IRC_FAIL_TRANSPORT_CLOSED
    Transport already closed

    1020
    IRC_NO_SITETOSITE
    No Site to Site possible

Tried from both office PC and home PC which use different ISP
Therefore, not a network or PC firewall settings causing this issue

1and1 support still unable to determine the problem

The 1and1 server support team resolved the issue - just needed a reboot - server had been up for 342 days, and there were some processes stuck.

    All fine as dandy again.
