I dont do any of that. Once I setup the WordPress so its working right, I write the article, always keeping in mind keywords, and let the words fly. Then I post it asap and move onto something else. Ive got a million articles to write still!

When I feel like I've written quite a good article, yeah, I optimize the blog post. But usually I just leave it.

Creating catchy title in your blog title is one way of "optimizing" it. Same with writing contents that contains your targeted keywords.

Yes definitely. Having checked the stats, and I see that I'm ranking well for a certain keyword, I then build backlinks with that anchor text to try and get it closer to the top spot.

Obviously some do this the other way - by optimising the least visited pages.

Not everytime because it would look awful. I am a fan of catchy titles and if my post is something humorous, I'd probably mask the title with something clever.

Thats true. Let us prioritize the readers. It would be "too obvious" if you optimized everything

You already have an answer in the question asked. But were you asking about the On-Page optimization or the Off page optimization?

When I put a lot of time and work into writing a good article or some linkbait, anything that I know/want to get more traffic than my usual posts, I always make sure to optimize it.

With Wordpress they make it quite easy because they have a plugin that you can install that will allow you to add unique Meta data for each and every post. Not a bad idea for SEO purposes.

If I am really trying to rank for the keywords in the blog post (usually longtail) then I do optimize it. The SEO plug in for wordpress is good for this. Otherwise I just write my posts naturally.

I am optimizing posts that got lots of comments on my blog, I simply submit them to social sites for getting even more attention. I am not writing specifically for search engines, but I try to use my targeted keywords in blog post titles and it usually works! I have recently added the SEO all-in-one plugin and this is one really rocks! This one is my favorite after Askimet. I can't imagine what I would do without Askimet It's been a month only since we installed it and it already helped me to detect 120 spam posts

Write like you would an essay. I personally believe Google uses existing patterns to find the subject of the article. (look at the first paragraph, look at the first sentence of each paragraph, look at bolded words, etc)

Stuff long tail most searched and less competitive keywords in your title.

It works 1000 % to rank at top .

Including keywords that people may use in searches is a terrific way to optimize your blog posts. When I write a blog article I try to incorporate other keywords into it whenever possible. The more keywords, the more people will find your blog in a search.
