    Does Flex require flash knowledge

I am planning to jump into flex development. Does it require Flash knowledge at some point for time for major developments.
I suggest everyone to upgrade to Windows Vista.

it'd be best to have some Flash knowledge - however, you can download a trial version of Flex Builder from Adobe - probably answer loads of your questions without cost in a penny!

You really dont need an expert knowledge in Flash to learn Flex, you need to have the knowledge of basic elements like MovieClips, Sprite objects and so on and also a knowledge of Actionscript 3 (if you're using Flex 2 or above).
    Good Luck!

Learning Actionscript wont be a big problem, but i dont want to learn Flash. I am not that creative artist or tend to learn anymore subjects which wont be related to what i have learnt.

Yeah I agree what ppl said above. You need to have some basic knowledge of actionscripts and that's it. Other things you can learn from flex itself

Flash is often misinterpreted as a designing tool only, whereas it has two different parts - one for designing and the other for development (in the same interface). Flex is used because it is an open source Flash IDE, you can publish your own swf files using the Flex SDK and notepad for writing code.
    Good Luck!
