Need help with header in photoshop CS

    Hi

I am creating a header for a factious restaurant web site. This is what I want to achieve but I can't do it.
I create a transparent canvas 922 wide X 120 high in Photoshop CS. Then using the rounded rectangle tool I create a rounded rectangle (Duh!) that fills most of my canvas beside for the rounded corners.
The rounded rectangle is now filled with my foreground color.
But I want to create a nice blue gradient (Which I did using the gradient tool), so I use the gradient tool but it fills my whole canvas including further than my rounded corners so I have again a rectangle.
How do I fill only my rounded rectangle?

    Thanks a lot

Ctrl+click on your rounded rectangle layer to select its shape and then fill the selection with a gradient.

It worked like a charm, I appreciate the speedy fix as I was stuck.

    Thanks again
