We dont ban for fun and it is usually with reluctance even then!

Everyone likes a bit of attention right!? After all, there is no such thing as 'bad publicity' 'Advisor'! Best To You! D. And, Yes, I also think that the 'staff here are great'! And they could be even greater if they kept their 'noses clean' too! Thanks!

    Hi brother,
take it easy friends, banning is normal and not a big matter.
So do I as met before!

Every forum entity wants good ,funny or quality posts/contents, not spam as thay said ,measured or ruled.
But these are rare or not easy now.
Different forum may have a different standard!!!

Do you think one should easily give/post quality contents if he has much?

Or why don't put such contents in the owned forum ...

    Maybe calm down in one minute , both loss at he end;
And maybe find another forum which is more suitable to stay.(Right forum for right person)

    Good luck.

Dear Dave, here's a helpful hint: when someone adds a smiley at the end of a sentence, it generally means that they are joking and that the comment shouldn't be taken seriously.

This is the General Chat forum, where we do get somewhat facetious at times (even the Big Bad Moderators).

Thanks very much for Your comment Mattcch2007! There are so many forums to choose from but only a hand-full of them are really worth visiting! I've crossed many off the list (and have been 'crossed' off many lists too!) I think that Site Point is one of the Best Forums that I have come across (and I think I've seen most!?) I love all the different categories on offer here and the smooth user interface of the site!

CONGRATS SITE POINT! May You be around a long time!
    Thanks again Mattcch2007!
    Kind Regards,
    Dave.

LOL AutisticCuckoo! I really Love Your username by the way! A smiley at the end of a comment is not the same as a wink at the end of a comment (in my humble opinion!) A smile could mean that You are having a bit of a happy dig at my expense! However, a wink at the end usually denotes a 'tongue in cheek' element to what has been stated!

As a gereral rule, I Never use foul language on forums! And, by the way, there is a forum online where anything goes is the rule! WickedFire Forum is Forum Hell peronified!! The laissez faire approach is scary as ... to say the least! It is parochial, slightly demented and bordering on mass cyber-evil! If You've never checked out WickedFire, then do yourself a 'favor?' and have a a look at it please!

You will Never (repeat and emphasized - NEVER) look at forums quite the same way again! Also, if You get out alive from WF as a Newbie then You can count Yourself as a real Hero! NOT for the faint hearted!

Thanks again Mister Cuckoo! Any more opinions from You!?

With all do respect, I can understand how you've been banned from so many forums.

Generally speaking, sometimes it is a good idea to tone it down a little bit and lurk more often. Let any heat you may have on you cool off and have that focus go to another problematic member. Post meaningful posts, avoid arguments, and definitely abide by the rules supplied by the forum moderators.

The moderators are not being uptight, they are just doing what they do; moderate, and enforce the forum rules. Some forums might have stricter rules than others, therefore you should read them and understand them before posting. Also, don't beg or suck up.

Thanks Eautocad! Problems arise when these essential services (as mentioned by You) are corrupt and unworkable! 'Love all around!?' Glad to see that You are nicely Loved up on this one!

I for one am a touch more cynical than You appear to be Eautocad! Afterall, one only has to look back to the example of Nazi 'Socialist' Germany to see what happens when the 'police, government and even 'Admins'' are dark and off the rails!

Seriously, if all countries had police and government systems like Hitler's 'Europe' did, do You think that the world would stay standing up!? I DOUBT IT STRONGLY!!

    Cheers, Dave.

Thanks a lot for Your comment Foxx! I've never heard of Strong Island, NY, what's it like please!?

I can assure You Foxx, I rarely resort to 'begging and sucking up'! YUCKO!!

'With all do (sic) respect'! I get Your point but You don't really sound that 'respectful'!

I think that pointless arguments should be avoided at all costs but please don't mistake that for healthy, strongly-worded debating!

Some Forums are So uptight that I'm surprised that anyone is left to post on them!

As for Site Point, to their credit, they haven't been 'precious' about this thread and banned/deleted it! (Yet!?)

Best to You Foxx, and please tell me, is Strong Island worth a visit when I come over to New York!?

    Thanks! Regards, Dave.

I agree, there was no way of saying the first thing I said respectfully, but I tried.

Strong Island is just my way of representing Long Island, NY in a positive way. And sure, you could visit Long Island, but I don't know what you'd do here that is anything out of the ordinary. Definitely spend some time in the city, though.

Hey, hey, take it easy... I am a peaceful person

I was not speaking about SP, but to his previous bannings in other forums. It seem that other forums don't have such a high standards and he was simply banned.

@featherspirit: I am sorry to say this, but I read your posts and does come as quite defensive, and I don't know the reason. The comments from other posters didn't seem to be agressive. But maybe it is because English is not my native language.

You do need to be careful with your cinism. In these forums many people are non-English speakers, and they may not understand your jokes. I can tell you that in my case, this is true. Half of the time I am not able to see what's so funny about a particular joke.

And regarding Alexa, well, SPointers don't care very much about that, they care about the service the forum provides. Anyway, for me, Alexa is just an approximation and a good indicator of tendencies, but its results are based on the results gathered from people that have the Alexa tool bar, so you can't take them that seriously.

I don't know if the moderators in other forums are stricter or not, I only actively participate in this particular forum, but I never had any problem with SP moderators. I don't have much relation with them, except maybe Datura, who is a mentor, but I've been here a long time and they are cool people.

Thanks for Your comment Molona! Maybe some of my posts are a bit defensive but You would have to agree that I have had a Lot thrown at me on this thread! I don't see any problem in defending my position if needs be! Sorry if You don't understand my 'cinism'! (sic). I didn't realize that I came across as so cryptic (apparently) with my humor!?

As for Alexa rankings not really mattering, could You please tell me Molona, why countless millions of people flock to Alexa.com Every week! Why are they there if the stats are 'relatively unimportant!?'

Also, some people obsess over their Alexa rankings like many males obsess over a certain unnamed body part! Try telling a man with a small 'body part' that it is 'unimportant'!

It seems like that some sites who don't have the best Alexa ranking for sites in their category automatically resort to Alexa 'bashing'! Maybe there needs to be strict Cyber-Domestic violence laws!? ... winks.

When I first joined SitePoint, one thing that made a big impression on me was how fair, friendly and welcoming the community was - an example set by the moderators.

In fact, not much has changed since then. SitePoint forums' welcoming nature towards new members still sets it apart from many other online forums.

This isn't to say that there were no good reasons for you being banned on other forums - obviously I can't say. But if you were to say that the moderators at SitePoint were fairer and more welcoming than in most forums I would agree with you.

Sure, but it seems almost impossible not to offend someone if Your points of view are strong or even slightly controversial!

To paraphrase Your great saying: "When the laws of any forum

forum is in the final stages of decline..."

Then maybe you should try to write it in a less offensive way? Doesn't it tell you something that you got a ban at all those other forums? Its easy to blame moderator being uptight, but to be honest you do seem to have a bit of a provoking writing style.

Maybe the person reading shouldn't take offense so quickly

As a general observation about humans every where, from any culture...

It seems funny how when people are talking about a subject, they
automatically expect others to not object or disagree and if they do
then they take the position that there's something wrong with the
guy that doesn't agree with what is said.

And, on the other hand when people are listening to another person
speak on a subject they expect the speaker to not get offended if
they disagree and want to correct the one speaking.

In other words, most people are hypocrites because they don't
treat others the way they want to be treated.

Kinda funny how this is usually the way things are, ain't it???

The thing is, the difference between

"Seriously, if all countries had police and government systems like Hitler's 'Europe' did You think that the world would stay standing up!? I DOUBT IT STRONGLY!!"

    and

"Seriously, if all countries had police and government systems like Hitler's 'Europe' do You think that the world would stay standing up!? I DOUBT IT STRONGLY!!"

is quite substantial! If you had intended to write the latter I would find it highly offensive, as would many people who have had relatives killed in World War Two, and europeans who support the European Union which is based on the idea of Justice, freedom, and security.
