Question Blogger or Word Press OR Something Else!?

I use Blogger and have had few problems yet many do not recommend them!

Wordpress gets a good wrap for many reasons!

Have You got another favorite!? Which platform is the best to blog from!? Please discuss.

If i were to have just one blog then i would use wordpress but if you have got quite a few on the go i prefer blogger to make them all easy to manage.

Thanks for Your quick response Teflon! Many people caution about having a Blogger blog as they are sometimes removed/deleted without explanation! Risky stuff! For my next blog I think I am going to go over to Wordpress and give them a go!

My favourite is WordPress. It is the best for self-hosted blogging. I use it also as a CMS for my clients. It fulfils my needs and makes me happy. I just love WordPress.

I am a big fan of Wordpress. Not only is it quite easy to setup and use, but the amount of quality templates available is staggering. Its also fairly easy to customize as well, and the plugins like 'Adsense Injection' make my life easy.

I would not recommend having them host a blog though that you are trying to commercialize in any way. If they even think your trying to capitalize off of a site that they host, they will delete it without warning.

No, it's way down the list. Wordpress is the daddy.

ExpressionEngine is a really nice blogging CMS, but it doesn't offer anything more than what wordpress already offers, for the price it charges for it.

I myself use wordpress. There is really no serious competition.

Drupal is also widely used for blogging, which you forgot to mention. But I don't like it much myself.

This might sound pretty silly to some, but I really don't care what I use for my Blog. The software is irrelevant as long as it provides me with the features that I require.

That being said, WordPress is the current king, so I use that.

My apologies Pavelmaha! I noticed my omission of Drupal after I had published the poll and I couldn't alter it then! Thanks for pointing it out!

It's awhile since I've used anything other than WP. What is it that the others restrict you putting on there?

I can only speak for Blogger (or 'Blogspot'), Google's Baby! The parameters of my blog are set in concrete it seems! Template choices with left hand columns/margins are few and far between, so You have to put up with what is on offer!

Blogger doesn't have the range of plug-ins that Wordpress users enjoy!

One thing I do like about Blogger is the fact that I get a lot of traffic just from this site! Other blog owners who surf different weblogs to read!

    Cheers, D.

    Wordpress.

I tried Blogger & HATED it. Tried Expression Engine. It was okay, but not enough. I found Greymatter, B2Evolution & PMachine to be awful. Movable Type wasn't my thing & neither was Typepad. Textpattern isn't bad, but it's lacking way too many features.

Started my blogging experience in blogger.com. And somehow it taught me some basics in blogging. Now, I'm targeting a new level of blogging, the wordpress platform. As of now, It is really awesome.
