    Firefox/Safari link extra space

    Firefox and Safari are giving all of my inline links an extra space at the end, but if the link is the only thing in the paragraph there is no extra space. It's difficult to see, but there's definitely an extra space:

    The only css I have for links is this:

    Code:
    a:link{			color: #fff; }
    a:visited{			color: #D09551; }
    a:hover, a:active{	text-decoration: none; }
    I can't find anywhere else with this problem. Could it have to do with encoding?

    How does your html code look like? Are there any spaces between the link text and the closing </a>?

    HTML Code:
    <ol>
    <li>Persnickety is one of several hundred studios throughout the country that support Operation Smile by participating in <a href="http://www.familyportraitmonth.com" rel="external" class="external">Family Portrait Month</a> each October. During October, we will contribute 10&#37; of each portrait sale to Operation Smile. Family Portrait Month is sponsored by <a href="http://www.ppacharities.com" rel="external" class="external">PPA Charities</a>, the charitable arm of Professional Photographers of America.
    <img src="assets/images/associations.gif" alt="ppa charities, family portrait month, operation smile" class="figure-a" /></li>
    <li>Throughout the rest of the year, if you mention that you would like to support Operation Smile, we will donate your session fee to the organization.<br /><br /></li>
    <li>At any time you can purchase a set of 8 Smile Cards -- note cards that feature your portrait on the front and Operation Smile's logo on the back -- for only $20 per set. All Smile Cards proceeds are donated to Operation Smile. Limit of 2 sets per family please.</li>
    </ol>
    No, no extra spaces in the html. I've also tried adding spans and nbsp's as well as opening and saving in dreamweaver. (rather than my default text editor)

    A little more info, I'm on Mac and I use Smultron(3.1.2).

    I've been using Roger Johansson's javascript (http://www.456bereastreet.com/archiv...pt_version_11/) for opening links in a new window. Somewhere in there it adds the extra space.

    I'd like to keep using the script, so I'll have to look into fixing it.

    Thanks for your help!

    This is not a html or css issue at least . I believe you modified the Javascript file and removed the automaticly added text for external links ("opens in a new window") , hence the space. Could you post the Javascript code please.
