    Reviving blog worth it?

I created a blog around the end of Dec. 2007 and was constant with blog posts for about a month. Around this time I got tired of writing and school got in the way, so I quit. However, I decided to leave it online just in case I decided to come back(it'd be over the 6 month mark for ppp).

Well, for the month that I was active(mainly Jan.) I received around 2000 unique hits. After I quit posting, I had 400 unique in Feb. However, this July I will probably break 1200.

I'm could of sworn it would have died once I left, but it seems to be growing every month since Feb.

Just wondering if it seems to have potential or is this just the natural cycle of sites that don't have anything being put into them?

Is this an option between starting a new blog or sticking with this one? If so, stick with this one, because you already have a pagerank; starting a new one would take some time to get pagerank.

All blogs have potential and evetually make some money, if you have it long enough, and have ads running on them; even if you don't update the content. Because your previous contents gets searched through search engine and with more days it gets available to more people. Obvioslu there is a downward slope somewhere along the line; if you don't update it long enough.

There has been a pagerank update since december, which is why you are probably seeing gradual increase in traffic.

Google likes content that has been around for a while. Longevity is one factor that increases a page's ranking, although it's unlikely 7 months is long enough to have made a big difference.

Nonetheless, if the 2000 were humans and not robots, I'd consider those to be good numbers that show potential. Remember, the content is still online for people to read even if you're not around, so your pages can become popular even if you're not watching them.

I read once about someone who started a site that went nowhere. He abandoned it. Came back a few years later to discover that it was getting thousands of hits a day, or something like that. It was popular!

If you want to get back into it, by all means go for it.

The "aging" factor is very important with all search engines. If you truly have the desire to get back into it, I would suggest reviving this one. If not, you could just work on it long enough to make worth selling.

If it's a niche blog. I would say go back to it. If not don't know that it really matters.

People are coming, it has potential. The more important question is, do you want to write for the blog again? What will you get out of it?

I agree on JNklein what is the use if you use the old blog? If it is worth it go and revive it.

Thanks for the input, everyone. I think I will be starting it back up.
