Why so few posts and threads?

Why on SP so few posts and threads? While the site has good stats!

Ummmm. What are you referring to? The SitePoint forum has thousands of threads and hundreds of thousand posts.

The forum has been live for a few years and not all of the forums were from "day one" so they may have lower stats than the older ones. The possibilty of "new" forums are discussed from time to time as things change in the world of the web to keep SitePoint up-to-date. But remember even high stat numbers started from zero.

For example, why is your post count so low?

Some are posting few threads so that they won't be irritable and annoying.

Compared to similar forums of the genre, Sitepoint threads may come less frequently, but tend to be much more useful. In my experience, at least.

I agree that it isn't the quantity that you should be concerned with, it is the quality. The higher quality of the content, the more someone is willing to return to read it. This allows for the forums to be interlinked from other websites, thus improving the ranking.

Another vote for quality over quantity. The number of threads is irrelevant compared to the information that is actually on those threads. When I need something, I just do a search of existing threads and I usually find an answer. Why start a new thread to ask an old question? Sitepoint is full of useful threads so that we don't have to start new ones. Whether there is one new thread a day, or a hundred a day, the quality of those threads is what makes this site stand out above many others.

I like the forum with limited quality content rather than bunch of same repeated threads..
I am a memeber of several other fourms where on can find thousands of new threads created everyday and they are all the same old type of threads like
    "Wordpress plugins i like" etc.,
It is difficult to get useful threads in these kinds of forums...
That's why i joined SP where quality limited number of threads can be seen

Sitepoint has only few posts and threads compare to other forums like v7n, dp, seochat, etc.
But links coming from this forum is really worth my time.

I see. I wasn't comparing SitePoint's statistics to other forums.
    Currently SitePoint's are
    Threads: 532,857, Posts: 3,819,727, Members: 272,410, Active Members: 16,704
Another's that I routinely participate in are
    Threads: 156,716, Posts: 205,583, Members: 37,738
But another's that was mentioned (but I don't visit) are
    Threads: 913,288, Posts: 8,318,039, Members: 187,764, Active Members: 56,784

So yes, compared to the last, Sitepoint's Thread and Post count numbers are lower, More members, and less Active Members.

Lots of members. Some are using auto posters posting spam and that stuff gets deleted so thats why the stats seem better than they actually are. BUT this is one awesome forum so...Bling Bling...... Katrina,,,,,,,,,,

I think site point has so few posts and threads because it's well moderated and spam gets kicked out quickly. I like it personally.

Historically posts and threads have also been pruned to a large extent over time - don't know if that still goes on...
