i haven't seen it yet but i know it's going to be great (it's really new... in fact, there should be a picture of it in the banner ad that's currently running at the top of each forum page)

Build your own web site the right way is probably more appropriate for a beginner. Its the same author as The Ultimate HTML Reference.

Is it appropriate for beginners?

It's a reference book, so it won't exactly teach you HTML. It can be a handy companion to a tutorial book, though, as well as a valuable resource for a more experienced developer.

This is totally of-topic but does anyone know when the JavaScript Reference wil be completed on SitePoint? I love the other two and use the daily at work to get thing right.
