Best practice for pure CSS dropdown menus

Hello. I am doing some consulting work for a client that has a requirement for a pure CSS dropdown menu. The code they were recommended is from here:

    http://www.tanfa.co.uk/css/examples/menu/tutorial-h.asp

However they are struggling with the code and as I'm working with it I'm finding that the .htc file it requires is a bit buggy.

What I am looking for is a best practice for pure CSS dropdown menus (preferably with minimal reliance on scripting). I'm aware of suckerfish and son of suckerfish but would like to tap your experience.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

Tyssen wrote a great post about the subject a couple of years back: http://www.tyssendesign.com.au/artic...down-low-down/
