Hello to everyone, I'm trying to install Ruby on Mac following the steps given on the book "Build your own RUBY ON RAILS web aplications" by Patrick Lenz.
First of all I want to say that I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.11.
I've got Xcode installed and before installing Ruby I need to install Readline.

I follow next steps on Terminal App:
Code:
$ cd Desktop
$ mkdir build
$ cd build

$ curl ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/readline/readline-5.1.tar.gz | tar xz
$ cd readline-5.1
Until there everything is OK, but when I write:
Code:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local
Terminal writes:
Code:
checking build system type... powerpc-apple-darwin8.11.0
checking host system type... powerpc-apple-darwin8.11.0

Beginning configuration for readline-5.1 for powerpc-apple-darwin8.11.0

checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... no
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
See `config.log' for more details.
What is happening here?
What I should do?
Thanks.
