I use Photoshop CS3 to design my website...Advice needed...

    Hi,

I am using photoshop CS3 now to design my website. Then I save under web as html and open it with adobe dreamweaver.

I preview the site on browser with Dreamweaver and it looks pretty ok.

Just wanna ask if this will work when I publish my website, which i use photoshop to create by import it to Dreamweaver.

Please help to advice urgently as I need to get my site ready as soon as possible.

    Thank you so much!

try it out and see - but make sure to test with different browsers (FF, Opera, IE6, IE7, etc).

generally, when you create a site this way (letting DW generate code for you, as opposed to writing it yourself) it tends to write terrible code that breaks cross-browser. just make sure that the site will work for everyone.

I would advise that you slice only the elements you need from photoshop using the crop tool and then code the HTML in Dreamweaver.

Letting Photoshop or any other graphics program control HTML will result in a huge amount of bad code and bad CSS.

    Hi Spikez,

I actually use the "insert image" option in Dreamweaver to add the whole website image i created using photoshop cs3 to open up the page in dreamweaver. Is this the right way?

If not, can you please teach me how to use the crop tool to slice the image? Do you mean crop and slice and then add/insert image in dreamweaver or...?Sorry...i am very new to this...hope you can teach me...

Thank you so much my bro...

    Warm regards,
    Kenix

    Hi Kenix
Have a look through an amazing site - psdtuts and specifically:
    http://psdtuts.com/interface-tutoria...-from-scratch/

and follow the tutorial all the way through to
NUTTUTS where they show you how to code it
    http://nettuts.com/site-builds/build...-from-scratch/

Should get you on the right track.
