Creating another section in Wordpress but not part of the posts

Hi,

Don't know if this is the right section to post this as I am still pretty new here.

Anyway, I ave this wordpress blog where I post almost on a daily basis. I want to create a separate section for reviews. I don't want these reviews to be part of the posts in the blog. How do I go about doing this? I intend to have 1 page for each review.

All help will be greatly appreciated.

You could do this by having a "Reviews" page and then each review itself would be a subpage of "Reviews"

Or create a category for reviews and exclude that category from the normal list of posts in the blog.

I agree - create a Review category. You can exclude it from the front page of the blog, and you can have a link in your navigation menu that brings up a page with just the posts in the Reviews category.

I do this all the time when I design sites driven by WordPress. It's great for categories like News and Events, and as in your case, Reviews.

And it's not too tricky. You don't have to use custom fields unless you really want to.

Would you like more details on how to do it? If so, what WordPress theme are you using? Are you hosting it yourself or is it a free WordPress.com blog?

I second the opinion for making them sub-pages to a general "Reviews" page.

You could honestly go either way actually. Just make sure that if you go the category route that you make sure you exclude the category from any new Theme you use before you launch it.
