    weird problem

    hi,

my boss have a computer knowledge of a 6 year old boy....
He created a mass on his notebook which i couldn't solve for now....
He wanted to download some photos from a digital camera, I don't know what he did (neither he does) but now, while the camera isn't connected to the notebook, some 30 icons simply appears on the desktop, as they are shortcuts to the images on the camera. After I delete these icons, they simply "come back" after a while. I deleted them at least 10 times till now, obviously there's something wrong....

    Any suggestion is appreciated!

Hehe...gotta love clueless users (your boss)

Well, tbh I didn't encounter that problem yet, but a similar one where a link on the desktop would reappear after being deleted (obv it said it was deleted but it wasn't). Then again, this could have numerous reasons and could depend on the actual software installed on the pc....So my first question would be:

    1. Have you tried to restart the system? If not, do that and try to delete the files AFTER the restart.

    2. If 1. doesn't help, did you try to connect the camera again, copy/move the files/images to a safe location and then delete the link, while the camera is still connected?

Let us know how it goes...

    Heyyy, thanks for your response.

    1. I have tried that, without success....
    2. the problem is that the images (to which the shortcuts are pointing) have been removed from the camera.....

However the mentioned problematic shortcuts seem to be gone (at least for now)
I tried to alter archive and index attributes of these files and AFTER that i deleted them. Maybe for this reason, or another (unknown to me) the shortcuts seem to be deleted....
    I hope so....
