    JavaScript, X-Library and Image Pixellation

    Anyone come across this issue before and knows a solution? It only affects IE.

    When "resizing" an image with JavaScript, you're really resizing only the rectangular area in which it is displayed, not resampling the file itself. The pixellation along color boundaries is a common artifact that can't be solved with JavaScript.

    I can understand that. But why does this issue only seem to affect IE? That's what's puzzling me - Firefox and Opera cope quite easily with the resizing.

    It is puzzling when you consider that Windows Picture and Fax Viewer handles this kind of resizing well. There's no telling why Microsoft doesn't apply the same technology in IE.
