    New! KenSharpe.net

I've moved my blog from its home at wordpress.com, to it's own abode:

    www.KenSharpe.net

I worked over the weekend to create a nice new theme for it, and get all the posts running the way they should. I'm hoping for feedback on usability, clarity, maybe content if the mood strikes you.

    Thanks a lot!

The theme looks OK, but I'm not sure about the nav bar - read the blog/browse the archives. I would rather see the categories up there.

I've just deleted a paragraph as I hadn't read the "about me" page. Interesting concept. Who are your readership?

    I didn't understand this -
Some of what I’m writing about has happened, and some hasn’t yet– it’s all true, but there are limits to what I can write.
What are you writing about that hasn't happened yet?

That line made sense at the beginning, when I wrote the first 10 or so articles before my first day on the new job. It was about my plans more than actual events -- you're right that it's confusing now. I just deleted the line, the page makes more sense now. Good catch 8)

My readers are young, ambitious, and trying to break into a career, probably in a technology related industry. I suspect many of them are here on sitepoint 8)

Well, I like your design. Is pretty simple and the black color and blue is a good combination What exactly I don't like is your menu, because don't has a background color. A background color separate your menu and content better. What you think ?

Sorry this is an opinion, nothing more.. I don't know much about design. Hehe

I like the design.. it is very simple, but effective. Lots of contrast. I also like the liberal use of picture.. almost one in every post... its a good way to break up content and emphasis a point.

The design is simple and easy on the eyes.. I like it. There are a few things I would change howerver:

    1. Check your line height on your page headers. Here is an example (view in IE7): http://www.kensharpe.net/category/business-politics. You will notice the lines scrunch up too close.

    2. I would move your menus over to the left to align up with the rest of your content. It looks like you have an image there that pushes your menus to the right. I would move that image to the right side of your menus and align them back to the left.

Looks good otherwise to me .

At first I wanted to write about the blue bar colour being too strong, but after a few seconds I decided it's quite OK and makes the blog easier to recognize.
I like the whole theme design, there are only minor things I'd tweak:
    - since your header is spread page-wide, I'd make the same with a footer (the thin light-blue stripe)
    - I'd try to align the logo (BTW it's simple, but nice ) with "Read the blog" and paragraph text beneath
    - try to remove the additional lines from the "Older posts" link at the bottom - there are too many of them and they just don't match the subtlety of the rest of the layout

I like your blog's design. Great color choices. It seems to me that everything works properly. I love the Einstein image.

Your site looks good. I like this color combination. There is a lot of white space. I want to see categories at the top, it will be easier for navigation.
    Best wishes!
