Exclamation Do i need to contact the Buyer for payment?

I had listed an auction here at SitePoint and ended it just yesterday after the reserve price had met.
Do i have to contact the buyer to take the deal ahead and how does the transaction take place?

This is my first auction aboard so kinda asking stupid questions.
    Help me please!

Yes, you should send the buyer a private message to arrange for payment via escrow.com or whatever method you accept.

    Thanks Matt!
I was under the impression that the winner will be automatically notified.

Yes, they are automatically notified when they win an auction, however, they'll probably want to talk to you first about the details of payment, exchange contact details, etc.

What if the winner doesn't pay?
Is there any specified duration mentioned within which we have to complete the transaction?

There's no specific timeframe, but you should expect to hear from them within 2-3 business days.

If they don't pay, you can re-list the auction or you can take them to court to enforce the bid.

If you win a site and you are not completely comfortable with the seller, can the buyer ask to split payment?

I tried to figure out how to put conditions in my bid but dont know how to do that.

people in this industry are from all over the world...so it seems to me, that in some cases, sueing for non performance could be whimsicle at best?

The buyer is my case is openly dishonoring the bid and refuses to make the payment.
I have left a negative rating and shot a mail to the support staff too.
    Lets see how it goes!

Most sellers want unconditional bids... If they do allow conditional bids, you'll see a box on the bidding page. What I would recommend is contacting the seller via private message with your split-payment proposal BEFORE bidding to ensure they are OK with it.
