I need a site like this built...Any ideas ?
Thanks for your patience with a rookie. I'm not a website builder but want to have one built for me as follows and am seeking education.
I'm interested in creating a website business that would allow my customers to create a sort of online scrapbook for themselves where they can add pictures, video, and text and then invite guests to view specific pages from the personal pages they created within my site.
I don't need the site to be able to allow visitors to add content. That privilege would be the sole privilege of the host/customer.
An example of a similar site is one that is designed for people to create an online memorial for family members.Mine is for a different purpose but the components appear to be the same.
Once again...I'm the rookie here. Is this a complicated site to build and what might it cost? Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks...

For an off the shelf solution you could go for something like http://www.interspire.com/sitecenter/ - visit the site and play with the demo and you'll see what it does.
You'll probably need a web designer to install it for you and tweak various bits for your site front end, but Sitecenter lets you only give access to people you want - you simply create a username and password for the, from then on they can login and build their own little site. It also comes with a number of premade templates to make things as easy as possible.
There are similar solutions but if this is the sort of thing you're looking for it should give you some ideas.
