Question I know this sounds crazy but I have to know...

    Hello All:

Ok, my manager came to me and said.... You see this page

    http://www.kardwell.com/bridge-hamilton-sets.htm

Why is the last word 'game' spaced differently than the rest in that paragraph?

At first I was like uh.... I don't know. I looked at the source and found no extra line breaks in there or anything.

Looking further I noticed a few other pages with the same result. In IE or Safari on my mac, the last line of the paragraph seems to go to a 1.5 line spacing rather than the rest of the paragraph.

I know this sounds like nit picking but now it is bothering me and I cannot seem to figure this one one.

Any advice or thoughts on this would be great...

    Paul

It doesn't do it in Firefox, but I guess you knew that. Neither does it do it in IE6 for Windows.

I'm going to jump the gun here and say that while the site looks nice, the coding is not up to date--table layouts, spacer gifs, line breaks as part of the design, very dated. That in and of itself might not warrant tearing it apart and rebuilding it, but strictly from a design (and validation) point of view, it does. That's a lot of work to solve a minor spacing problem, but I can almost guarantee that if you revamp this site to be CSS-driven, that glitch will go away.

I don't see the effect in Opera, but it's there in Firefox.
    I have 3 guesses
    1. Invalid mark-up
    HTML Code:
    <td colspan="3"" align="center" valign="middle">
    2. A problem related to the nested tables
    3. Use of the font tag

Thanks Black Max - with some 955 HTML pages laid out, I am not about revamp or do anything like that with this site at this point. Thanks for the advice though.

Um, no, I wouldn't either unless I was handsomely paid for it.

    Looks fine here in FF3.

With that sort of old-skool coding, you'd be lucky if anyone could tell you why it's happening. Acceptable 5 years ago... not acceptable now.
