    Unhappy Table Troubles

    Why is my table not formatting properly so that the first cell is way more than 65% of the row width and the second cell wraps around as if that cell weren't large enough to accommodate the entries, but at 35% it is more than large enough for 10 characters to fit.

    Thanks.

    Oops. Here is the code:

    <table>
    <tr width="100%">
    <td width="65%">Hutchins, Wheeler & Dittmar; Boston, MA
    </td>
    <td width="35%" align="right">1993 2001
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>

    Thanks.

    I would love to help but it worked fine for me. Maybe try specifying a width for the table as well. But like I said everything looked great to me

    Thanks, Maelstrom.

    I tried doing that. I even tried specifying a width for ul I have underneath. I managed to get everything beneath the first 3 rows aligned properly with this code -- but only by making the chunk I sent to you, which is the first few rows, "padded" with cells on right and left side of the center, and then it pushed all of the content in the middle cell to the right.

    I've gone over every single piece of code in this stupid thing 3 times, 3 days in a row. No missing "s, no opened tags that should be closed. It's clearly something to do with these first few rows, and I'm wondering if the HTML4 th tf syntax is required by IE6.

    Any suggestions, short of making each chunk its own table (which is actually what I did at first, and it looked fine)?

    Thanks.

    I'm afraid I'm not hosted yet.

    I just deleted the tables to the extent that I could. Seems like that's what we'll all have to do soon anyway, right?

    Thanks for your help.
