    Localhost across my home network

Hi i recently set up a new testing web server(iis6), but can't view any of my websites hosted on my mac (osx leopard). I can ping the server from the mac, and RDP with out any problems, just can't view any websites. i've tried using the ip of the server (192.168.1.15) in the browser the server name but still no luck. Does any body have any ideas?

    server firewal has been disabled

    eye,

Servers can only serve files that they have (direct) access to. If you can setup the website's directory (on the mac's drive) as a resource ON the WinDoze box, you're set, otherwise, you're SOL (@#$% out of luck).

OR are you just trying to view the WinDoze files via LAN? If so, you'll need to setup the hosts file for the LAN address AND the IIS equivalent of VirtualHost for the "test domain."

    Regards,

sounds like you haven't set up the hosts correctly in IIS ... can you actually ping the domain name, not just ping the IP address?

IIS doesn't care what client browser/OS your using(unless your serving up proprietary files).

Hi Thanks for the reply's, i managed to get it working in the end. It was actually the host file on the Mac that wasn't working correctly
