Question Help setting up a root password for MySQL!!

OK, Kevin's book (Build your own......)says... Type the following command in the bin directory of your MySQL installation.

mysqladmin -u root password "your new password"

I went to the bin folder under MySQL folder and there are a bunch of application files there, but I'm not sure if this is the right place.

try opening a ms-dos/command prompt box and using the change directory function to get to the mysql/bin directory then type the -u root password type thing.

    [cd program files
    cd mysql
    cd bin
mysqladmin -u root password "your new password"]

Also under that bin director you will need to open the mysql.exe as that is where you will need to create your dB and tables..

    Does that help?
