Having problems connecting to a secured XML document
I'm still fairly new to .net so please bare with me.
I have loads of XML resources which are all secured mostly with basic authentication.
With classic ASP I had no issues connecting and receiving the details with the xmlhttp object. However I've been googling this to death and found that asp.net doesn't support xmlhttp anymore ... so I went digging to find what had replaced it and found the xmltextreader. OK cool, that looks good however - I can't find anything on how to enter security details?
Does anyone know how to accomplish this or am I barking up the wrong tree with the xmltextreader?
All I want is something like:
ConnectToXML("user", "pass", "URL")
load the xml doc and read through it.
Should be easy but asp.net doesn't like me yet.Don't you just hate it when it works first time.

Use the WebClient class. It has a Credentials property.
