The layout is nice, but the colors could use a little work. The bright green is painful (literally - it hurts my eyes) to look at. And the red, yellow, blue and green boxes are too bright. Try to play with different tones of these colors. Maybe mute them a little or something.

[Don't take offense, but] my eyes still hurt - like I just stared into the sun.

You could also probably lose the CSS Valid icon. No one cares, any 90% of people that visit your site aren't even going to know what that means.

But like I said, nice layout, easy nav, and great use of whitespace.

You have merged very vibrant primary colours with dull and faded grey, which in my opinion doesn't fit.
As dtm32236 said, the colours are too bright - try to make them of similar intensity as the header ones are. You can use a colour matching program, for example Adobe's Kuler.

when I try to find color for hover, i'll usually open up photoshop, add a new layer and fill it with the current color (pick the color you're using and Alt+Backspace). Then I change either the saturation or brightness (Ctrl+U). This will give you a different tone (is that the right word?) of the same color.

Apart from some color issues the layout is simple and serves it purpose. It looks clean and good. As said before a darker tone would be much better. Websites need to be easy on the eyes, colors like bright/lime green/yellow etc really dont to do well. Only time id use such colors is in very small places such as icons.

Nice page but menu color is too bright and also the boxes could be darker.

that's still pretty bright - but it depends where it is and how much green there is (did that make sense?)

I change the green into blue green so that it would be darker. Did I do the right thing?
