Web Design: Premiun, Cracked or Free/ Open Sorce?

    Hello web designers,

Here is a simple question: What are you for and what you use for doing web design:

    1. Premium stuff paying for that.
    2. Cracked premium stuff.
    3. Free and Open Source.

    Mostly important: WHY?

Personally, I am in love with Open Source; I use:
    1. GIMP - image editor.
    2. Inkscape - illustrations tool.
    3. Bluefish - html editor for Ubuntu - HTMLKit - html editor for Windows.

I am very happy with that. What about you?

What about a combination of paid and open source software?
I don't have much I currently use right now as I have other things to work on.

    Currently make use of:
Photoshop CS3, Komodo IDE, Editplus (trying out E text editor), VIM when I'm going commands line with Liinux, Apache + MySQL + PHP of course, SVN.

Thats all I can think of right now that I make use of daily.
    Logic without the fatal effects.
All code snippets are licensed under WTFPL.

I generally use Paint Shop Pro and PHP Designer when i'm building websites, novicey things probably but i still consider my designs and coding to be better than some that have been made with an adobe package... I suppose it depends on how you use things.

I also use xxamp as my localhost server.

I'll probably upgrade to adobe web premium at some point, but i don't feel it's nessecary yet.

Quite simply if you don't want to pay for software you should use open source. If you want to use Photoshop and you are earning from it you would be silly not to pay for it.
