Software for testing in various IE browsers, your views.

I've come across a piece of software that enables you to test your design in IE3 through to IE6, it's at Tredosoft.com
    .

Although the program has been out for a while, does anyone use this? Are there any positive/negatives in using this? Or are there better alternatives for testing old browers on one machine?

    Tony.

I use it a lot and it works fine for me, the 1 thing that I do now is that cookies don't seem to work in IE6.

Not that long ago someone posted a link on Sitepoint for a package that also contained the beta of IE8. I can't find it back, but maybe someone else knows where i'm talking about?

Found it, IETester contains the Beta 1 of IE8. Although I think its pretty useless at this point since its a early beta. But it should become really useful once they have finished the work on the render engine, and you know for sure that the bugs you might be seeing on your screen aren't going to be taken care of by Microsoft.

    Thanks for the replies.

I wasn't too sure if this really works well enough, but all seems well when mainly using IE6.

I just use IE6 and FF and I assume everything will go fine with the rest.

So you don't test in IE7? I've actually had the odd thing look right in FF and IE6, but it stuffed up in IE7.

Oh, and to answer the original question, I use Multiple IE too.

Yes I use Multiple IE too, I've been using it for a long time and it’s become an essential part of local testing for us. Every PC has this installed, along with Firefox, Opera and windows Safari.
