    2 simple javascript question

    Hi,

    I have 2 questions.

    1. I have a popup window. I know through popup window one can refresh the parent window, my question is if I have a div statemnet in the parent window can I make it from visible to hidden in the parent window through my popup.

    2. I want my popup window to have absoultely nothing, no brower bars either top or bottom , no closing/minimize option

    I tried the following

    Code:
    introWindow= window.open ("/NASApp/Versus/Jsp/App/EDocs/hourGlass.jsp", "introwindow",
        "width=400,height=600");
    but I still get in IE the top bar where you close/minimize

    In more recent browsers it's not possible for security reasons.
    For example, the following page is supposed to demo the technique, but modern browsers aren't as effected by it.

    1. You can reference the parent's document from the popup like this, if your popup is in the same domain as the parent:
    Code:
    var parentDoc = window.opener.document;
    parentDoc.getElementById("myDiv").style.display = "none";
