Wordpress as CMS - plugin questions

I use Wordpress, yes, but I couldn't tell I use it for anything else as standart blogging. Never really looked deep into, never needed to. Now I am about to launch a set of websites and I am really thinking to (maybe) use Wordpress as CMS. And here is what I need to ask:

    1) Is there a plugin or addon that makes you create a Wordpress based website that only contain pages and no standart blog posts; I really need to get rid of the original "blogging" features and only structure the website by pages?

    2) Is there a plugin or addon that let's you structure the navigation menu only by those pages (with subpages etc.); no blog categories, no archives; no blogroll, only good static pages?

This can all be done and you do not need any plugin. The first ca be done at Settings > Reading, the second can be done while developing the the theme.

as banago says, you dont need any plugin to achieve this. You simply set your blog to display a page for the home page and then change your theme so that only pages etc are displayed. Its pretty easy

I've created a sandbox theme for helping develop static page themes from scratch and a have a plugin for converting your admin panel for static pages only (removes the extraneous junk you don't need).

Yes, changing the settings (theme, navigation, etc.) will help.
    Good luck.

No problem. I was a little surprised when I tried to find something similar myself a few months ago and discovered there was nothing - hence I made something myself.
