Hi Guys. I'm stuck with a piece of code on the front page of this website http://2008.texashighways.beta.avatartech.com/

I used mootools to enact a slide animation on the search box, so that when you click on the search button in the top right hand corner, the search box slides up and down (as you click repeatedly)

The code works in all the other browsers (even IE6) but does absolutely nothing in IE7.

If I put an

Code JavaScript:

before and after the actual slide call

Code JavaScript:

(see code below) they both execute but ... no slide.
I'm completely stumped.

Any suggestions or pointers are much appreciated.

Here are the html snippets concerned

the search box

Code HTML4Strict:
<div id="searchBox"><img src="/images/searchTop.gif" width="189" height="4" alt="SearchTop">
	<div id="searchInterior">
	<a href="#">advanced search</a><br />
	<form action="index.php" method="post" accept-charset="utf-8" name="searchForm">
		<input type="hidden" name="task"   value="search" />
		<input type="hidden" name="option" value="com_search" />
		<input type="text" name="searchword" value="" id="mod_search_searchword" size="15" /> <a href="javascript:document.searchForm.submit();">Go</a></p>

the navigational element that starts the slide animation

Code HTML4Strict:
<li class="navigation9" id="navigation9"><a href="/index.php/outdoors" class="mainlevelnavigation" >Outdoors</a></li>
<li class="navigation10" id="navigation10"><a href="http://blog.texashighways.com/" class="mainlevelnavigation" >Blog</a></li>
<li class="navigation11" id="navigation11"><a href="http://www.texashighways.com/giftshop/" class="mainlevelnavigation" >Shop</a></li>
<li class="navigation12" id="navigation12"><a href="http://www.texashighways.com/search/" class="mainlevelnavigation" >Search</a></li>
the javascript http://2008.texashighways.beta.avatartech.com/templates/txhwy_theme/js/main.js

Code JavaScript:
   window.addEvent('domready', function(){
   //Slide effect on search box
   var slide_effect = new Fx.Slide('searchBox');
	//have to do this or else you'll need two clicks to start the animation instead of one
    $('navigation12').addEvent('click', function(e){
		e = new Event(e);
