My site when it eventually goes online will probably be hosted in the UK. Should i be using US English or UK English?

Just don't mix alternative spellings on the same page as it looks very unprofessional.

    What will be the difference?
For example, specialised (UK) and specialized (American).

Obviously specialised is correct, as you don't get a specializt...

stylesheets are written in CSS and NOT in English so the spelling is not the same.

Since you're also UK based I'd suggest using proper English.

Use Google Analytics or something similar that gives you a map of where your users come from. If you find a lot of them are in North America, consider US English.

According to my Concise Oxford Dictionary, -ized is and always has been proper English, whereas -ised is derived from the French.

That would mean the Americans have got it right and the British are speaking French.

A double-whammy for proponents of colonial superiority, I agree. But your fight is with the OED, not me!
