    Does anyone else out there do their PHP editing in DW3, is it easy?, is it colour coded?

    I use HS4.5 at the moment but a lot more of my sites need fancy bits that require layers, and to be honest I am getting fed up of positioning them by habd so I thought I would give DW a try.

    Thanks in advance,

    Well I am in a close position to yours. DW3 knows not to mess around with PHP and ASP code. It doesn't have any awesome color-coding like HS4.5.

    I separate them. For design, I first concept it on a piece of notebook paper. Then I make the design in Macromedia Fireworks, and get it critiqued. I then make it in Dreamweaver, separate the 'top' and the 'bottom' and make those include files. I compress those two (i.e. remove all spaces). I set the Homesite default document to something like:

    <!--#include virtual="/res/inc/aptop.asp"-->
    <h2>Title</h2>
    Content
    <!--#include virtual="/res/inc/apbot.asp"-->

    Then every time HS is started, the default document has exactly what I want.

    I include some code in the aptop and apbot files but most of my code is page-specific which I include anywhere I feel like.

    Don't use DW to edit PHP...instead separate the process.
